I often struggle to find a companion for my weekly excursions to the theater, and it might be nice to take someone out once in a while who wouldn't otherwise get out to a play or concert. When I first saw the promo on facebook, I thought it was going to be something where individuals volunteer to accompany seniors to the theater. I actually think that may even be a better idea - often the problem isn't the cost, but the lack of friends/family to go with the senior. I have an 80+ Aunt in NYC who still loves to go to concerts, theater, etc. but has so few living friends and no close relatives in town that it makes her hesitant to go out much. I bet a program like AASC could easily be expanded to include donations of time. Would be interesting to see what Mark thinks and if it is being done in NY. Cheers. ajg Great idea, nice story.
