Melodrama Workshops with the Grand Guignolers – TOMORROW!

Guignolers Melodrama

play big * play ferocious * play to survive

Melodrama is the most expressive of Western theatre forms, the one closest to the theatrical impulse itself. Based in physical gesture, it focuses on high stakes, big characters, big emotions, spectacle, the struggle between good and evil, and music.

Melodrama lies somewhere between Antonin Artaud”™s “athlete of the emotions” and cops & robbers. You get to play BIG which stretches you. It is cathartic and, most importantly, lots of FUN.

These melodrama workshops are a theatrical workout designed to get you out of your head and into your body.

Wanna play make-believe, Grand Guignolers style?

BRING: an open attitude, willingness to get ugly, and a readiness to have fun. High stakes.
(Leave pretentions, self-consciousness, fear of being judged, and competitive nature at home.)

Next workout is Wednesday, AUGUST 11th

~ 7:30pm-10pm ~
