What happens when art studios collide?!

An exciting, multi-disciplinary evening of art exhibitions, performance art and access to private art studios is happening on Saturday, June 1, 2013.

1019West Art Studios and 5790 Projects are joining forces to present “ZERO DOWN”—a festive one-night art event happening on in the studios and on the premises of the 1019WEST Artists Studio Building in Inglewood, two blocks west of the 405 at 1019 W. Manchester Blvd.

For the first time, multi-disciplinary artists from 1019WEST are teaming up with Curators Catlin Moore, Marielos Zeka and Matthew Gardocki from 5790 Projects—the brainchild of Mark Moore Gallery—to bring alive this creative headquarters for an exciting evening of performance art, music, group exhibition and open studios, all staged at the massive retrofit building that appeared two years ago on the LA art scene.

More than 30 artists’ studios at 1019WEST will be open to the public from 5:00-9:00 p.m., while 5790 Projects’ eight invited performance artists will be intervening throughout the site from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Food and drinks will be available throughout the evening, and visitors will find ample parking both on the grounds (entrance on West Manchester just west of the Hindry intersection), and on nearby streets.  Several art models from The Gallery Girls will act as hostesses for the evening.

About the venue:

1019WEST is a dynamic complex of creative workspaces where more than 40 multi-disciplinary artists maintain studios. Located in Inglewood, just west of the 405 freeway, the building is situated in the middle of the larger creative community of the Beacon Arts Building, Otis College of Art and Design, and Loyola Maryland University. The now retrofit building and grounds were originally the location of the first VW dealership in Southern California.

1019WEST is just 16 minutes from Santa Monica, 11 minutes from Venice, 13 miles from downtown L.A., and proximate to the 405, LAX, Loyola Marymount, and Otis College of Art and Design.

More information can be found on their official website here.
