The Road Theatre Company in NoHo is staging their 2nd Annual Summer Playwrights Festival during one jam-packed week in July to showcase a broad variety of the work of several playwrights, directors and actors as well as a fundraising event for the theatre.

Between July 11th and 17th, 2011 theatre lovers will have the opportunity to hear the staged readings of a total of twenty (20!) new works from twenty playwrights, each directed and performed by Road company members and a wonderful group of guest artists including Emmy, Golden Globe, Ovation and other award winners.
In addition, the Festival includes live music, food and drink, and a perfect opportunity for the public to discuss the work with the artists during relaxed and informal post-reading talk-backs and soirées.
Some of this year”™s offerings are being considered for the Road”™s main stage while others will go to their Off-Road Series or be further developed as part of their Road Signs Monday night reading series.
Following their mission of finding and developing new works for the American stage, the Road Theatre Company present this surprising collection of full-length and one-act plays for your enjoyment and consideration.
Additionally, founder and Artistic Director Taylor Gilbert and Artistic Director Sam Anderson encourage a dialogue with theatre goers by welcoming your opinions, input and participation.
