Celeb daughter (!) and singer/actress Rumer Willis will be playing the role of Juliet in For The Record: Baz Luhrmann, the next of the live music concerts at Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Feliz that bring the movies to life in a fun and lively supper-club environment.

Previews commence on August 15, and the show will officially open on August 22nd.

Turns out that Willis was a last minute addition to the talented ensemble of singer/dancer/actors. The actress originally cast to play the central role, Lindsey Gort (a popular and regular cast member in several of previous “For The Record” shows), is now set to star as the young Samantha Jones in the upcoming CW series The Carrie Diaries.

Several of the shows actors and actresses (Gort included) have signed with managers and agents, who haunt the popular Rockwell shows in search of high talent. One of the actresses, Ginifer King, has appeared in the Rockwell shows over the past few years and is now the lead of a new Nickelodeon show that debuted three weeks ago, Haunted Hathaways. A superb singer with serious cred, King previously performed on Broadway in Gypsy, Steel Magnolias and Cyrano de Bergerac. Another member of the Rockwell ‘family,’ Jackie Seiden, appeared in the stage musical Jersey Boys and has now been cast as one of the three lead women in the upcoming movie version, to be directed by Clint Eastwood no less!

In addition to the popular For The Record shows, Jeff Goldblum has enjoyed a residency there with his jazz band, the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, for the past five months. Goldblum will be leaving to rehearse and appear in a Broadway show. Wayne Brady will be taking over for him on Wednesday nights. Over the past few months Molly Ringwald, Tracie Thoms, Missi Pyle and Sutton Foster have also performed at Rockwell.

The talented cast of For The Record: Baz Luhrmann includes making her “For The Record” debut Rumer Willis (“The House Bunny,” CW’s 90210), Ginifer King (Nickelodeon’s Haunted Hathaways, Broadway’s Gypsy, Steel Magnolias), Milena Govich (NBC’s Law & Order, FX’s Rescue Me), Kristolyn Lloyd (CBS’s The Bold and the Beautiful), Jackie Seiden (“New Year’s Eve,” Broadway’s Hairspray), Peter Porte (CBS’s The Young and the Restless), Lindsay Pearce (Fox’s Glee), Derek Ferguson (NBC’s Smash, Broadway’s Wonderland), Danielle Truitt (Disney’s The Princess and the Frog), Charissa Hogeland (Hollywood Bowl’s Chicago), Joanna Jones (NBC’s The Sing-Off), Olivia Harris (“The Playroom”), Tomasina Abate, Margaret M. Spirito, Steve Mazurek (Hollywood Bowl’s Les Misérables), Ciaran McCarthy, Ben D. Goldberg, Payson Lewis (NBC’s The Sing-Off), Darryl Semira (Broadway’s Mamma Mia!, Spamalot), ”), Patrick Mulvey (Fox’s The Mob Doctor, Broadway’s Billy Elliot), and Jason Paige (“Blood Sweat and Tears”).

For The Record: Baz Luhrmann is directed by Anderson Davis, with choreography by Derek Ferguson, musical direction by Christopher Lloyd Bratten and produced by Shane Scheel and Siobhan O’Neill.

  • I’ve been searching on-line a lot more than 3 hours these days, however I personally hardly ever identified any exciting content similar to you. It is attractive value enough for me. Privately, if perhaps all website owners and also blog writers produced great material when you performed, the internet is going to be a great deal more beneficial than ever before.
